De Blaauw Observatory visit

  • Blaauw Sterrenwacht Bernoulliborg Nijenborgh 9 9747 AG Groningen (map)

The Blaauw Observatory is the observatory from the University of Groningen on the Zernike Campus. Its dome is on top of the Bernoulliborg. Students from the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute perform observations with the Gratama Telescope to learn how to work with a telescope and astronomical images. It is also regularly open for the general public to learn more about astronomy.

This evening we will give an introduction to Astronomy and a guided tour in the observatory. If the weather permits, we will observe the star sky. Otherwise, we will show some beautiful images that have been taken with the Gratama Telescope. The program lasts about 1.5 - 2 hours (depending on the weather).

So join us in our trip to the stars !
