The time has come to test your knowledge and represent your faculty in an online competition of the Groningen PhD community: do you have what it takes to go all the way, and leave the chat room with the virtual trophy?
Gopher is happy to invite all PhD students to the Interfaculty Virtual Pubquiz, organised as a close collaboration between Gopher and PhD Councils of Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience (BCN), Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS), Humanities (GSH), Medical Sciences (GSMS), Science & Engineering (GSSE), Law (GGSL), Spatial Sciences (GSSS), and Theology & Religious Studies (GSTRS)! Throughout six rounds, you will be tested on your knowledge and skills. Together, we have developed questions pertaining to several categories: Science, Geography, Blast from the Past, the Happy Round, as well as a Music and a Picture round.
As is customary at all Gopher social events, we will offer all participants a free locally-brewed beer (alcoholic or nonalcoholic)! If you indicate in the registration form that you would like to make use of this offer, you will be able to pick up your free beer in the city centre on the days before the Pubquiz and on the day of the Pubquiz itself. Exact address, dates and times to pick it up will follow in the confirmation email.
To register for this event, we provide you with two options:
1) You can register with your own team. If you choose to do this, make sure you have asked some colleagues and/or friends to join you beforehand, as it is only possible to sign up once as a team. Importantly, the person who signs up will be team leader. This means that you will receive the link for the answer sheet, and will have the responsibility of filling in the answers during the night. During sign-up, you are asked to provide the names, email addresses, and faculties of your team members, so that we can accommodate a virtual meeting room for your team. A team can consist of up to 6 people.
2) You can register as an individual participant. Gopher will form teams among those who choose this option, or will randomly distribute you to another team that does not yet have 6 people.
This event is free of charge and is going to be online.
