Eco shopping bags making workshop part II *Cancelled*

Did you know that an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste is created each year?

By 2030, we are predicted to send 134 million tonnes of clothing to landfills annually. These shocking figures are both appalling and avoidable. Repurposing existing goods and materials means that we preserve natural resources.  Some quick, cheap and easy sewing skills can be the answer to minimise the use of wrapping paper or plastic bags.

Join this workshop to practice the skills which will save and extend the life of your clothes. So upcycling (creative reuse) vintage textile is our solution.

Learning outcomes:

  • Discover how to upcycle old pillow case, t-shirt, scarf or vintage textile.

  • Learn about rewarding and fun deconstructing and upcycling skills.

  • Discuss the importance of making clothes last longer for the environment.

There are two workshops in total (1st workshop is on June), please make sure that you can join both workshops to make your own eco shopping bag.

You will need a needle, some thread, buttons and some spare pillowcase or shirt or scarf.

This workshop is provided by Chicfashic .

This event is free of charge and will take place via zoom.
