Join us on a trip to Deventer to get in the Christmas mood during the annual Dickens Festival!

The characters from Charles Dickens’ famous books will come to life on this day. You will get the chance to dive into the atmosphere of a 19th-century English city, to enjoy the street performances, while treating yourself to hot punch and roasted chestnuts, to listen to Christmas music in one of the churches… There is so much to see and to do!

Tips for the day:

• We will meet at Deventer Train station at 10:20. If you want to travel with us from Groningen, join us at the train station at 8:30. We will take the train that leaves at 8:48 — please be on time!

• The festival starts at 11:00. The entrance is free, but we might have to spend some time in the queue. The waiting time can be up to 1 hour (and it is certainly more fun to do it together!).

• During the festival, we will coordinate our actions via WhatsApp. Please let us know your phone number via the registration form below.

• At 15:30, we will gather and walk to Grand Café De Heeren. Cozy tables and hot drinks will be waiting there for us, starting from 16:00 :) first round is on GOPHER!

• At 17:47, we will catch the train back to Groningen. We expect to return by 19:13.

• The participation is free. However, we would kindly ask you to sign up via the registration form — otherwise, we cannot guarantee a spot in the café. You will also have to take care of train tickets yourself (maybe, find someone to arrange a group ticket with? ;)
