From Friday May 17th until Sunday May 19th, Gopher will organize a weekend trip to the Belgium Ardennes. This will not be your seaside summer holiday, but it will be full of outdoor- and team activities.
Late night GPS game? Check. Highland games? Check. Mountain sports including via ferrata, rope bridges, bushwalks, zip lines, and abseiling? Check, check, check, check, and check.
Our bus will leave on Friday early afternoon at 12:30 from the Groningen train- and bus station. Upon arrival in Belgium around 18:00, a buffet will be ready for us. When our bellies are full and our legs are stretched, we will be dropped outdoor and have to find our way back by GPS.
Saturday after breakfast, we will have a full day of mountain sports in the Ardennes. When we get back there will be a barbecue. Sunday morning, we will play Highland games. Even though we are in Belgium, somehow this Scottish tradition has found its way over the pond and in teams we will compete in the honor of Gopher.
And when the games end, we will get ready to travel back north, back to Groningen.
You can join this outdoor weekend for €225 (€255 for non-PhDs). The price includes the fees for travel, stay (log cabins), 2x breakfast, 2x lunch and 2x dinner, as well as the above mentioned activities.

Cancellation and reimbursement of participation fee
If you are unable to attend an event (paid or free) you have signed up for, please notify the Gopher board beforehand.
Unless otherwise indicated, canceling your registration and reimbursing your paid participation fee can be done until 10 days before the start of the event. Please make sure you read carefully the registration/cancellation procedures in the confirmation email for each event sent by us.
