Doing PhD is a tremendous hard job. It is a long, intense, roller-coaster like experience. But this adventure is also a great challenge for your critical intellectual independent development as a scientist.
Your supervisor is a very important person in the game, your critical guarding angel (or not). Quote: ‘The real work of your dissertation begins when you start arguing with your supervisor”. What about making an expressionist portrait of your supervisor? He or she will be painted in the most subjective way imaginable. Unscientific but purely artistic.
Full of colour, line movements and contrasts. We let ourselves be inspired by the work of including Francis Bacon ( the painter- not the philosopher), Frank Auerbach and Chaim Soutine. A joyful intuitive supplement of your cerebral activities.
You will need the following materials:
Acrylic paint, different tubes with the colors you want to use.
Canvas board (a size “van Bleisswijck Schildersdoek, 30 x 40 or better 40 x 50)
Brushes (a flat brush, not a round one, of 1 cm and 2 cm wide)
This event is free of charge and will take place in René de Rooze’s Studio. Remember to bring all the stuff needed yourself, the studio won’t provide materials.
You need to have a valid vaccination document or COVID-19 test to join the event.
Please do not come to the studio if you have complains or if a household member has corona.

Cancellation policy and reimbursement of participation fee
If you are unable to attend an event (paid or free) you have signed up for, please notify the Gopher board beforehand.
Unless otherwise indicated, canceling your registration and reimbursing your paid participation fee can be done until 24 hours before the start of the event. Please make sure you read carefully the registration/cancellation procedures in the confirmation email for each event sent by us.
