Acrylic Painting workshop: “De Ploeg “ - The Plough

unsplash-image--AugcHptjuQ.jpg

In Groningen artists established in 1918 a movement called De Ploeg, the plough.

Its interest was to give its members a new artistic perception on reality, closely connected to the German group Die Brucke. The Bridge, sometimes a bit more abstracted. An expressionist approach of reality: full of colours and schematic powerful lines, vibrant compositions and complementary colour contrasts. With the example shown, from Jan Wiegers, who met in 1920 Ernst Ludwig Kirchner from Die Brucke, we will start to work today, the subject might be an interior with people, a portrait or a landscape.

Leading principle will be the joy of the use of colour as a means of expressing our feelings on the subject. Take your full colour pallet with you this time! We will spend two hours researching out of the comfort zone. You need to have the basic painting skills. We will do our own painting during the workshop, with the instruction from our visual artist René Frank de Rooze.

This event is free of charge and will take place online via zoom.
